Medical Weight Loss in Mesa, AZ

Mesa Medical Weight Loss

Our Mesa Eastmark office is a nurse practitioner-led wellness clinic in the Eastmark community of southeast Mesa. The office sits on Point Twenty-Two Boulevard, in the heart of Eastmark near the Great Park, with easy access from Loop 202 for patients across Queen Creek, Apache Junction, and Gold Canyon.

Services include medical weight loss, hormone replacement therapy, testosterone replacement therapy, IV therapy, ketamine infusion therapy, peptide therapy, and regenerative therapy. The practice is led by Chad Dance, FNP-C, MSN, MS, whose five-plus years of ICU experience at a Level II trauma center shaped how the clinic approaches every service. Labs before prescriptions. Honest evaluations. Clinical rigor instead of wellness marketing.

Who Comes to Our Mesa Eastmark Office for Weight Loss

Our Mesa Eastmark patient base is different from our Gilbert location. We see a wider age range here, including a significant number of patients from the Sunland Springs active adult community, where the average age skews older than typical wellness clinics see.

That changes how we approach treatment. A 35-year-old executive in Eastmark who wants to lose forty pounds before her wedding has different goals and risk profile than a 68-year-old retiree in Sunland Springs trying to lose twenty-five pounds to manage his Type 2 diabetes and arthritis. Both are appropriate candidates. The medications, doses, and monitoring approach differ.

We see patients from across Mesa, Queen Creek, Apache Junction, Gold Canyon, and the surrounding master-planned communities. Most of our Queen Creek patients choose our Mesa Eastmark office over driving further north or west because the location is closer and the parking is easier.

Is Medical Weight Loss Right for You?

Clinically, medical weight loss is appropriate for adults with a BMI of 27 or higher who have at least one weight-related condition such as hypertension, prediabetes, sleep apnea, or fatty liver disease. It is also appropriate for adults with a BMI of 30 or higher regardless of other conditions. The clinical guidelines for obesity treatment from the Endocrine Society reflect these thresholds, and we evaluate every patient against them.

Patients with a BMI below 27 and no weight-related conditions are usually not appropriate candidates for prescription weight loss medication. If that is your situation, your provider will tell you directly. We are not the right fit for cosmetic weight loss in the 5 to 15 pound range. We are the right fit for patients whose weight is affecting their health, energy, or longevity.

There is a medically supervised weight loss overview from Mayo Clinic that summarizes the broader research on prescription weight loss medications. Worth reading before your consultation if you want to come in prepared.

Our Five Weight Loss Medications

The medication options at our Mesa Eastmark office are the same as our Gilbert location: Semaglutide, Tirzepatide, Retatrutide, HCG, and Phentermine. The selection process is highly individualized.

Semaglutide

A once-weekly injection that mimics the GLP-1 hormone your body produces naturally. It slows gastric emptying, regulates blood sugar, and reduces appetite. The largest clinical trial showed an average weight loss of 35 pounds, a 14.9 percent reduction in body weight, over 68 weeks of treatment. Five times the effect of diet and exercise alone.

Semaglutide is the most common starting point for our Mesa Eastmark weight loss patients. Side effects are usually mild and include nausea and fatigue during the first few weeks of treatment. Most patients tolerate the medication well after the dose-escalation period. Patients with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma should not take Semaglutide.

Tirzepatide

A once-weekly injection that targets both the GLP-1 and GIP receptors. The dual mechanism produces greater weight loss than Semaglutide in head-to-head clinical trials. Some patients lose 20 to 25 percent of their body weight over a year on Tirzepatide. The cost is generally higher than Semaglutide, which is a real consideration for many patients.

For Mesa Eastmark patients who have already tried Semaglutide elsewhere and either plateaued or did not respond, Tirzepatide is a common next step. We can transition patients between medications when clinically appropriate.

Retatrutide

Human Chorionic Gonadotropin combined with a structured low-calorie protocol. Less aggressive than GLP-1 medications, but significantly less expensive. The HCG protocol runs in three phases: loading, weight loss with a 500-calorie restriction, and maintenance.

Our Sunland Springs patients sometimes prefer HCG because it does not require self-injection and the protocol structure works well for retirees with stable daily routines. The discipline required is higher than for GLP-1 medications. The cost is lower.

HCG Diet

A triple-receptor agonist targeting GLP-1, GIP, and glucagon. Not yet FDA approved for general use, but available through clinical channels. Early phase 2 trial data showed an average weight loss of 24 percent over 48 weeks. This is the strongest published result for any weight loss medication to date.

Retatrutide is rarely available in the southeast Valley. Our Mesa Eastmark office is one of the few clinics in Queen Creek's accessible range that offers it. We use it primarily for patients who have plateaued on Semaglutide or Tirzepatide, or who want the most aggressive evidence-based option from the start.

Phentermine

A daily oral appetite suppressant, FDA approved for short-term use. Appropriate for patients who need rapid initial weight loss, those who cannot tolerate GLP-1 medications, or those with cardiovascular contraindications to injectable options. Best used as a 12-week intervention paired with diet and exercise. Not for long-term use.

How We Choose the Right Medication for You

This decision happens in your initial consultation, not before it. Your provider reviews your medical history, current medications, prior weight loss attempts, insurance coverage, your tolerance for injections versus pills, and your goal timeline. From there, the recommendation is the medication most likely to work for you.

For some patients, the answer is obvious from the start. A 40-year-old in good health with a BMI of 32, no contraindications, and good insurance coverage for Wegovy is a straightforward Semaglutide candidate. For others, the picture is more complicated. A 65-year-old Sunland Springs patient on five medications with cardiovascular history and limited insurance coverage requires a more careful evaluation.

This is the conversation a single-medication clinic cannot have with you. They can only offer what they carry. We offer five medications because the right choice depends on the patient.

Pricing

Pricing for every medication and program length is on the services pricing page. Semaglutide programs start at $395 per month and include weekly weigh-ins, fat burner injections, and B12. Tirzepatide and HCG packages cost more, Phentermine costs less.

Insurance coverage for weight loss medications is inconsistent. Some plans cover Wegovy or Zepbound when prescribed for FDA-approved indications. Most do not cover compounded Semaglutide or Tirzepatide. Keystone is an out-of-network practice and does not bill insurance directly. Patients use HSA, FSA, or financing through Cherry.

Your First Visit at Our Mesa Eastmark Office

Your first visit takes about 45 minutes. Your provider reviews your medical history, performs a basic exam, orders baseline lab work when appropriate, and walks through the medication options. If you decide to start that day, you can leave with a prescription or with the medication in hand depending on the option you choose.

For Queen Creek patients, the drive to our Eastmark office is usually under fifteen minutes. The parking is straightforward, and our office is on the ground floor with easy access. We see a high proportion of patients who chose us specifically because the drive is shorter than competing wellness clinics further west.

Most patients see appetite changes within the first one to two weeks on GLP-1 medications. Measurable weight loss usually begins around weeks three to four. Full medication effect at the target dose takes three to four months. Follow-up visits occur every four to six weeks during active treatment.

Meet Your Provider

Chad Dance, FNP-C, MSN, MS, is the lead Family Nurse Practitioner overseeing the medical weight loss program at our Mesa Eastmark office. Two master's degrees, board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner, with over thirteen years of combined nursing and NP experience.

Before becoming a nurse practitioner, Chad spent more than five years in the ICU at a Level II trauma center caring for critically ill patients. That background is unusual for a wellness provider, and it matters. GLP-1 medications affect cardiovascular function, glycemic control, and gastrointestinal motility. A provider with critical care experience brings a clinical safety floor that aestheticians and registered nurses cannot match.

Chad is fluent in Spanish, both conversational and medical. Spanish-speaking patients can request a Spanish-language appointment when booking.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does medical weight loss cost in Mesa?

Semaglutide programs at our Mesa Eastmark office start at $395 per month and include weekly weigh-ins, fat burner injections, and B12. Tirzepatide and HCG packages cost more. Phentermine costs less. The services pricing page lists every medication and program. HSA, FSA, and financing through Cherry are accepted.

Do you offer medical weight loss in Eastmark specifically?

Yes. Our Mesa Eastmark office is physically located in the Eastmark community at 10706 East Point Twenty-Two Boulevard, near the Banner Health Center at Eastmark. We offer the full medical weight loss program from this location, including Semaglutide, Tirzepatide, Retatrutide, HCG, and Phentermine.

How much weight can I lose with Semaglutide?

Clinical trial data shows an average loss of 35 pounds, or 14.9 percent of starting body weight, over 68 weeks of treatment with Semaglutide. Some patients lose more, some less. Results depend on starting weight, dose, adherence, and whether you pair the medication with dietary and lifestyle changes. Most patients see meaningful weight loss within the first three months.

What is the difference between Semaglutide and Tirzepatide?

Semaglutide targets one receptor in the GLP-1 pathway. Tirzepatide targets two: GLP-1 and GIP. The dual-receptor action produces greater average weight loss in head-to-head clinical trials. The trade-off is cost: Tirzepatide is more expensive. The framework most patients use: Semaglutide is the standard starting point, Tirzepatide is the step up when budget allows or when Semaglutide stops producing results.

Is Retatrutide FDA approved?

Retatrutide is not yet FDA approved for general use as of 2026. It is available through compounding pharmacies and clinical channels. Phase 2 trial data showed an average weight loss of 24 percent over 48 weeks, the strongest published result for any weight loss medication. We offer Retatrutide for patients who have plateaued on other medications or want the most aggressive option.

How long does medical weight loss take to work?

Appetite changes are usually noticeable within one to two weeks on GLP-1 medications. Measurable weight loss begins around weeks three to four. Full medication effect at target dose takes three to four months. Total weight loss progresses over the first year of treatment. Expect a clinical journey, not a quick fix.

Do you accept patients from Queen Creek?

Yes. Queen Creek is one of our primary service markets at our Mesa Eastmark office. Most of Queen Creek is within fifteen minutes of our Eastmark location, often under ten. Many of our weight loss patients drive from Queen Creek because we are closer than competing wellness clinics further west.

What are the side effects of GLP-1 weight loss medications?

Common side effects include nausea, fatigue, constipation, and occasional diarrhea, especially during dose escalation. Most diminish over time. Rare but serious risks include pancreatitis and gallbladder issues. Patients with personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma should not take GLP-1 medications. We screen for contraindications during your initial visit.

Can I do medical weight loss without injections?

Yes. Two non-injection options. Phentermine is a daily oral appetite suppressant best suited for short-term weight loss interventions of about twelve weeks. The HCG diet combines oral or sublingual HCG with a structured 500-calorie protocol that runs in three phases. Phentermine works well for patients who need a fast initial drop. HCG works well for patients with stable daily routines who can commit to the protocol structure.

Who is a good candidate for medical weight loss in Mesa?

Good candidates have a BMI of 27 or higher with at least one weight-related condition, or a BMI of 30 or higher regardless of other conditions. They have tried weight loss through diet and exercise without sustained success. They are willing to commit to follow-up visits and dietary adjustments. They want a provider relationship, not just a prescription.
