A fad diet promotes or sells you special products or severely limits the variety of foods that you eat. Many fad diets help you lose weight initially but fail in the long run because you do not stick to them. These diets promote one group of food and avoid other food groups. Dietitians warn that our bodies need a variety of food to stay healthy. Below we explain why most fad diets fail and how the HCG diet, a medical weight loss plan, is more effective.

Many Fad Diets Are Not Healthy

Many fad diets lack a balance of vitamins, minerals, and nutrients in the foods chosen. They restrict calories and promote foods that leave you feeling hungry. Many diet products can produce allergic reactions in the user and have too much sugar. Anyone selling diet products is making money on your weight loss efforts. Many fad diets show initial weight loss results, but you cannot sustain them. Often you gain back the weight again when you stop following the diet.

The HCG Diet and Weight Loss

The HCG diet is a medically supervised weight loss diet that uses a hormone injection of HCG and limited calorie intake daily. This hormone, when injected into the body, signals the body to burn fat deposits through the hypothalamus gland. It is safe because our doctors supervise patients and monitor their symptoms. It was first used in the 1950s for weight loss. The diet begins with you eating plenty of calories for two days and getting the HCG shots. You can eat lean beef, chicken, crab, lobster, scallops, veggie burgers, tofu, vegetables, white fish, fruit, and drink water. The last phase of the diet, called the maintenance phase, is when you stop taking HCG injections and increase calories. You learn to eat healthier at this time using less sugar, fat, and salt.

The HCG diet has many benefits; you burn fat tissue and improve your metabolic function. This diet increases energy while you lose weight. During the diet, you do not experience hunger pangs, and it is medically supervised. It provides weight loss that can be maintained.
